12V VERSUS 16V EFFICIENCY AND AMP DRAW SPECS
Now run your equipment 20% longer and on a separate clean power system, and receive better clarity and signal returns with 16V systems. Switch with no effects on warranty issues. as all units listed operate at above 16 volts. When setting up a system add the the total number of amps needed and divide by the AH of the battery rating. Remember to add 20% more AH rating then needed for a 10 hour day or longer so that same battery will be big enough for load after 4 years of service.
* Note less amp draw from units on 16V mean less heat for units to absorb making units run cooler.
Why choose 16V over 12V?
16 volt will give you a crisper, brighter image on your graphs. It does this all while giving you better returns from your transducer which results in clearer side, down and forward imaging allowing you to unlock the full potential of your graphs and make you a better offshore fisherman. Maybe you have already noticed your console units with engine running at 14.6 volts look slightly better then your bow units running at 12v this is because of the increase in voltage.
16 volt is also 20% more efficient than 12 volt, meaning you will get longer run times on the equivalent amp hour rated 12 volt. Example, 16V 80AH will get similar run time to a 12V 100AH.
Will 16V damage my graphs or void my warranty?
No, The short explanation for this is, 16V draws 20% less amperage. Amperage is what causes heat in your electronics, which is your electronics number one enemy.. Lets face it you are already running 14.6 on units while engine is running on full charged battery. Plus the units are rated to run above the 16v limits.
Is 16V compatible with my graphs?
Yes, Humminbird's working voltage is 20 volts, Garmin's is 18 volts and Lowrance's working voltage is 17volts. Working voltage on battery is 16.4 so lowrance units cannot be turned on while charging unless you purchased the voltage regulator which maintains the stead voltage of 16.4 to equipment. The run and gun charger can only be run with a voltage regulator installed. This only applies to lowrance units, all other brands can handle the higher voltage when using charger.
Do I need a specific charger?
Yes, 16V batteries require a special charger and are not compatible with 12,24 or 36V, or any other chargers. We sell the required 16V LiFePo4 charger on our website.
What size of 16V battery do I need?
Refer to the table below under the "16V draw"column in accordance with each of your graphs and transducers. Add these numbers for each graph and multiply that total by how many hours you spend on the water before recharging. This will give you the maximum total amps you will require. Finally, choose the appropriate size that fits your requirements, either 48AH,60AH, 80AH, or 100AH. If your system requires, you are able to wire in parallel to meet your required demand. Best when used with built in waterproof DC charger that will charge the battery when the outboard is running.
What is the importance of the 16v Battery Install Kit?
This install kit gives you the ability to switch from 16V to 12V on the fly. This ensures that you always have a backup plan. If for some reason the power goes out or you're not able to fully charge, or you plain forget to charge your 16V and you run it dead, this give you the ability to switch over to 12V backup power and keep you on the water. The kit includes (4) 6AWG battery cables to hook up the 12v and 16v batteries to a 3 position Perko switch to choose 12v or 16v power. (Note: helpful tip if you are in remote area with hard to get power cord connections and are running the built in DC charger you can select 12v power for the practice day before, and charge the 16v during practice.)
What size wiring is needed to carry loads?
We suggest 10AWG to run form batteries to Perko switch and to units. Our battery install kit comes with (4) 6 AWG battery cables to go to Perko. If you choose to run main power to a separate fuse box then you only need 14AWG as 16v system carries the load much better than 12v and will not drop voltage, especially since you are running each device on a separate circuit to the fuse box. Fuse box eliminates the factory fuse holders that are impossible to get to if a problem occurs on the water. But system will accepted other wiring harness from other suppliers.
Can I use this battery in place of my cranking battery?
No. This battery is designed to take the load off your cranking battery by running a separate clean power system to the devices.

If you don't currently have a dedicated power harness
If you are starting from scratch, we recommend you buy the battery install kit, 6 way fuse box, and enough 10AWG wire to run from perko to fuse box. Then figure from fuse box to all power connections how much 14awg you will need. (note with shorter runs and 16v current you do not need 10awg to go to each power connection as 14awg will easily carry the 2.5 amp loads. (Note our 14awg will power 2 devices)
If you already have a dedicated wiring harness
If you already have a dedicated wiring harness like SEACLEAR, SONOR PRO'S, or your own wiring system, you will only need our Battery install kit which will include 4 battery cables to connect to 12v and 16v battery, 3 way perko switch and grounding lug. Then you use the wiring system of your choice.

WARRANTY REGISTRATION
We recommend you protect your investment and register your warranty. If your battery is not registered within 90 days of purchase, warranty will begin at manufacture date of battery. Proof of ownership is required. Warranties are not transferrable.
WARRANTY FEES FOR DEEP CYCLE 40AH + BATTERIES
- 15 years total
- Repair or replace free any time inside of 60 months or 1,000 battery cycles (whichever comes first) from purchase date.
- All warrantied items will be subject to the shipping cost to and from PowerHouse Lithium.
- Warrantied replacement cost is based on current MSRP on all batteries over 1000 cycles or the 5 year period.
Replacement cost of batteries over the 5 year or 1000 cycle counts goes as followed:
1. From Year 5 thru 8 - repair: cost of parts plus $100 (repair not to exceed 50% of MSRP), or replacement cost will be at a 50% discount off MSRP*. Cycle count not to exceed 1500 cycles
2. From year 8 thru 15 replacement cost will be at a 30% discount off current MSRP*
* Batteries with more than 2,000 cycles are considered at the end of normal use. For those batteries, being a Powerhouse customer. We will offer a discounted price of 10% for a new battery.
Example of how long 1000, 1500 and 2000 cycles would be.
1. You fish 2 times a week every week and you need to charge every time (most cases you will not) but just for example purposes. 2 x 52 = 104 cycles per year divided into 1000 cycles is 9.62 years.
2. Same setup but now 1500 cycles
104 cycles per year divided into 1500 cycles is 14.42 years
3. Same setup but now 2000 cycles (the average life for a LiFePo4 Battery)
104 cycles per year divided into 2000 cycles is 19.23 years
Don't be mislead about companies that advertise their batteries do 5000 cycles as all LifePO4 batteries with Grade A cells are the same. Sure our batteries will do 5000 cycles as well but what they fail to tell you is that is with only 10% used in the battery each time.
The fact about Lithium is that it only has so much total energy in it's lifetime that it can be transferred back and forth so the deeper the charge the less cycles it will go, and the quick charge of 20% or less it will go a lot longer. The end result no matter how you want to charge your batteries the total amount of energy will be the same at the end of the batteries life.

CHARGER AND EXTRA COMPONENTS WARRANTY
Chargers, wiring kits, and all components are subject to a 1 year manufacturers defect warranty.
NON-TRANSFERABLE
This Limited Warranty is to the original purchaser of the Product and is not transferable to any other person or entity. .
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
The Manufacturer has no obligation under this Limited Warranty for Product subjected to the following conditions (including but not limited to):
- Water damage, impact, or collision
- Physical damage to battery case or mishandling of the product
- Product that has been opened, modified, or tampered with
- Tampering or removal of manufacture date codes
- Product that was used for applications other than which it was designed and intended for by the PowerHouse over the rated Continuous amp rating.
This Limited Warranty does not cover a Product that has reached its normal end of life (2000 cycles) due to usage which may occur prior to the Warranty Period. A battery can deliver only a specific amount of Energy over its life which will occur over different periods of time depending on the use. The Manufacture reserves the right to deny a warranty claim if the Product is determined, upon inspection, to be at its normal end of life even if within the Warranty Period.
SUBMITTING A WARRANTY CLAIM
To submit a warranty claim, please refer to our warranty application. The Product may be required to be shipped back to PowerHouse for further inspection.
